The Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association announced the much-anticipated release of its first research white paper. The research serves as an important tool in developing a universal standard and criteria for defining boutique and lifestyle lodgings. The study was undertaken to provide greater clarity for the current meaning of the terms "boutique hotel" and "lifestyle hotel." The research elicited a list of emerging definitions, as well as emotions and experiences that define the boutique and lifestyle hotel experience. Among them are: Discovery, curiosity, intrigue, amazement, social, joyful, sensual and romantic.

The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, U.K.

After a long trip from Edinburgh, my mom and I finally arrived in the city of Bath.
The city is absolutely gorgeous with its Roman Baths and beautiful architecture. To add to the beauty was a beautiful and large palace that our taxi stopped at. This magnificent building was the Royal Crescent Hotel. There was amazing service for check in. Everything in Scotland and London had been dreary and overcast- but here, it was so beautiful!
There were lush gardens, beautiful lavender bushes, swings, patio sets, a bar, and even some cats! We arrived at sunset and the weather was just so relaxing and glorious. When we arrived at our room, we were astonished at how beautiful our room was! There was a nice living room, big bathroom, and a bedroom with two very comfortable beds. Then we made our way to the bath house- there was a heated swimming pool, two big barrels acting as Jacuzzis, a sauna, a steam room, and a shower. It was all secured in beautiful architecture. My mom and I just spent the day relaxing and taking in the magnificent scenery. Later, we had an absolutely fantastic dinner!
There was amazing service and of course amazing food! Everything was so five-star and gourmet- they had an amazing chef. I ordered their mushroom soup and especially when you dip it in the great bread it was to die for. I then had their fish- which just looked so beautiful- it was like a piece of art held in a dish! Then I had their absolutely delicious desserts! I was so stuffed yet so satisfied after that amazing dinner. Unfortunately, we could only stay one night since we had a busy trip. I was so sad because everything was just so amazing and relaxing- this was definitely a hotel to remember!
